Things to Do while staying at the Chateau Auvergne France

Things to do …

Close to the accommodation, there are several lakes (approx. 10 – 20 mins drive away) where you can swim, take out boats, snorkel, picnic or just sit out in one of the restaurant / bar gardens to eat or have a drink while taking in the scenery and activity around you.

There are a number of really beautiful places to visit and activities to be enjoyed in the vicinity. Some examples are listed below.

SALERS:
Salers is a gorgeous historic village standing at an altitude of 950M in the Regional Nature Park of the Auvergne Volcanos (“Parc Naturel Régional des Volcans d’Auvergne”). It is a site not to be missed in the region. Wander down the charming alleyways and purchase local salami, cheese and the famous ‘Salers’ biscuits.

CONQUES:
Conques is recognised in the selective list of the most Beautiful Villages of France .It is one of the major monuments of architectural and cultural heritage that line the route to Santiago de Compostela.

HILL-WALKING : PUY MARY
The emblematic pyramid of Puy Mary (1,787M) proudly oversees the Cantalien volcano which is the largest volcano in Europe (2 700 km²).

WATER-SPORTS : BARRAGE OF SAINT ETIENNE CANTALES
Magnificent lake, ideal for Swimming and Sunbathing. Jet-Ski and Boat-hire is also possible. Golf and tennis are also available locally.

SKI RESORT « LE LIORAN »
Le Lioran, the main ski resort of The Massif Cantalien.
Le Lioran offers a large variety of sports and leisure activities that can be enjoyed in absolute safety, are easily accessible to all and blend harmoniously into the beautiful natural surroundings.

In short, an experience that deserves to be lived..

As far as we are concerned, we have returned home to our various locations with full intentions of coming back next year!!

Beautiful Chateau In Aurillac. Unique and wonderful experience…

Thank you for an amazing experience. Its a beautiful chateau - very authentic. Felt like we were taken back to medieval times. Very nice owner - very helpful. Made our stay very special. Thank you for an amazing experience. Its a beautiful chateau - very authentic. Felt like we were taken back to medieval times. Very nice owner - very helpful. Made our stay very special. The location was also great. Lots of things to do and beautiful towns and villages, also lakes, mountains - a diverse range of activities. I will be back!

Charming French Castle Near Aurillac. A Real Escape.

"What a fantastic weekend we spent in this charming French castle. There is a real feeling of privacy and it is so beautifully scenic – a real escape. The accommodation was lovely, very clean and comfortable, and we really enjoyed our short stay. Aurillac is a really nice town and, as we discovered, it is famous for umbrellas! As we were there in February and it was still quite cold but we were very cosy in the castle and it was perfect for the birthday celebration that we went there for. We were able to buy lots of fabulous local produce (wine, cheese, meats) to make up our birthday feast. I can imagine returning here during the summer to enjoy lazy evenings with a barbecue outside drinking wine and eating more of the gorgeous local cheese! I will definately return."

"We really loved this place, it has a lot of character and is in a really peaceful rural location, yet just a short drive from the local town and close to ski resorts and other amenities. We had a great afternoon skiing in Le Lioran which is just half an hours drive away. There were only 3 of us, but the property would be ideal also for a larger group. Beautifully Restored Castle In Cantal. Lovely, Cosy Time…

On a dry, chilly January weekend, we spend a lovely, cosy time in this beautifully restored old home. The area around Naucelles & Aurillac is very scenic even in Winter.

On a dry, chilly January weekend, we spend a lovely, cosy time in this beautifully restored old home. The area around Naucelles & Aurillac is very scenic even in Winter. The property matched the advertisement perfectly, and I would have no hesitation in recommending it.
