Beautifully Restored Castle In Cantal. Lovely, Cosy Time…

As far as we are concerned, we have returned home to our various locations with full intentions of coming back next year!! On a dry, chilly January weekend, we spend a lovely, cosy time in this beautifully restored old home. The area around Naucelles & Aurillac is very scenic even in Winter. The property matched the advertisement perfectly, and I would have no hesitation in recommending it. The owner was very helpful and has excellent English and answered all our emails/questions promptly.

"We really loved this place, it has a lot of character and is in a really peaceful rural location, yet just a short drive from the local town and close to ski resorts and other amenities. We had a great afternoon skiing in Le Lioran which is just half an hours drive away. There were only 3 of us, but the property would be ideal also for a larger group. We felt very important living in our own castle on a private estate!"

"What a fantastic weekend we spent in this charming French castle. There is a real feeling of privacy and it is so beautifully scenic – a real escape. The accommodation was lovely, very clean and comfortable, and we really enjoyed our short stay. Aurillac is a really nice town and, as we discovered, it is famous for umbrellas! As we were there in February and it was still quite cold but we were very cosy in the castle and it was perfect for the birthday celebration that we went there for. We were able to buy lots of fabulous local produce (wine, cheese, meats) to make up our birthday feast. I can imagine returning here during the summer to enjoy lazy evenings with a barbecue outside drinking wine and eating more of the gorgeous local cheese! I will definately return."

Thank you for an amazing experience. Its a beautiful chateau - very authentic. Felt like we were taken back to medieval times. Very nice owner - very helpful. Made our stay very special. The location was also great. Lots of things to do and beautiful towns and villages, also lakes, mountains - a diverse range of activities. I will be back!
